Install YearAlert
You’re two minutes from a copyright year that stays current forever. Pick your setup below.
Your personal download link appears here after payment. It is one file, yearalert.zip — leave it zipped, that is exactly what WordPress asks for. Not on WordPress? You do not need this file: open the second tab and copy the script. Lost your link? Rebuild it in the box just below — the reference is in your Paddle receipt.
Already bought it? Reopen your download and the guide
Watch it first — 42 seconds. The whole install in one take, no sound needed. Prefer to read? The same four steps are right below, shot from the same screens.
Open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin
In your WordPress admin (your-site.com/wp-admin), open Plugins → Add Plugin, then click Upload Plugin next to the heading. You are not searching the plugin directory — YearAlert installs from the file you downloaded.
WordPress renames that menu item between releases — Add Plugin on 7.x, Add New Plugin on 6.4–6.9, Add New on 6.3 and earlier. The Upload Plugin button sits in the same place in all of them.
Choose the file you downloaded and click Install Now
Tap Choose File and pick yearalert.zip from your downloads — the zip itself, unopened. Then Install Now. This works from a phone: the WordPress admin file picker reads your downloads folder like any other app.
Click Activate Plugin
WordPress reports Plugin installed successfully. Click Activate Plugin — that’s the whole install. There are no settings, no account and no configuration page: the moment it’s active, your copyright year is handled.
Done — verify it
Open your site’s homepage, hard-refresh (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R) so you are not looking at a cached copy, and scroll to the bottom of the page. The copyright year now shows the current year — and on 1 January it becomes the next one on its own, without you touching anything. If it still shows the old year, email us your URL and we’ll sort it out.
Nothing to download here
For non-WordPress sites (Webflow, Squarespace, Tilda, Shopify themes, static HTML, custom sites…) the whole product is one script — it unlocks on this page with your purchase, and you copy it in the next step. Once it is on your site nothing is loaded from our servers: the code lives with you.
Put it on your site — either way works
A. Builder with a “custom code” / “code injection” / “footer code” box (Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify, Tilda…): hit Copy full script below — it copies the whole engine already wrapped in a script tag, exactly what goes into that box.
<script>
/* YearAlert engine — ~13 KB, self-contained.
“Copy full script” puts the complete code on your clipboard. */
</script>
The script opens with your purchase. Already bought it? Unlock this page with the box at the top.
B. You can upload files to your site (static HTML, custom sites): take yearalert.js out of your download (it is in the js folder of the zip), drop it next to your pages and add this line just above the closing </body> tag:
<script src="/yearalert.js" async></script>
Save, publish, verify
Most builders need an explicit Publish after saving — until you press it, nothing changes on the live site (this is the #1 thing people miss on Webflow). Then open your live domain (not the editor or preview), scroll to the bottom of the page, and hard-refresh (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R). The year is current. The editor may still show the old year — that’s expected: the script changes what visitors see, not your source text.
